PURE Guest.006 Nastya Muravyova

Fierce rhythm emanating from Kyiv's Underground, resounds through the sky.

Nastya Muravyova is a Kyiv-based DJ, she has sculpted the current style and aura of parties in Kyiv. Apart from her role in the rave scene, she has another special identity — a stewardess of Azur Air Ukraine. Just like her daytime job, she has landed gigs in prominent Berlin venues such as Berghain, OHM, ://about blank and Tresor just in her few years of DJ journey. Also, she has played in many parties hosted by Cxema. Cxema's life-changing party brewing new sounds of the Ukraine's Underground Rave.

Nastya's former mixes are decorated like fine filigree jewelry, they are fusions of intense dance music, embellished with the bursts of EBM, Breakbeat, and Electro. Her first performance for Cxema in 2017 was a turning point of the organization the parties left the sweaty, DIY territory of the Gavan' skatepark straight to the site of Dovzhenko, one of the largest film studios in Eastern Europe with a vast dance floor and high ceiling, that was a moment for Nastya.

"I was just puzzled by everything that was happening around. I was catching the buzz, playing in front of such a crowd. I needed just one set, and people started recognizing me, coming to the parties I played." Nastya Muravyova said after then.

Now the demand for Nastya is growing exponentially. Her Boiler Room party mix has clocked up more than 100k views, and her schedule updates weekly with new bookings on the world club map. Nastya has become a solid figure in the underground Techno scene, always delighting with her hard-cutting 4x4 powerful mixes, let's see what she will make this time.

Do you think there has been a Soundscape surrounding you since your childhood? Does it influence your preferences towards certain timbres or atmospheres while you select tunes?

When I was a child I listen a Russian pop-music. When I was a teenager I listened to rock, punk and then post-punk.

How and where was the mix recorded?

I recorded it at the studio where I'm a teacher. I teach people to mix and how to feel the music.

Could you tell us the idea behind the mix? Any favorites you want to highlight?

I've started playing more trance lately. I think it's perfectly counted with techno. That's actually the mix.

How do you think of the differences between the rave scenes around you (your country) and other countries (cultures) ? Have you ever been to one that left you a greatest impression?

Kyiv is now rapidly gaining momentum, as parties in Europe have not yet been launched to the fullest, as they were before quarantine, everyone is coming to us, which makes me very happy. That's why I don't see any difference between countries right now. Kiev is at the level with everyone, I think.

Apart from DJ, how would you define your role in the entire rave scene?

I don’t know really. I'm doing just what I'm doing so it's not up to me to decide.

Which artists or labels have pricked your ears recently? Could you share with us some of your favorite movies or artists?

I have a huge list of my favorite movies. But I really liked the movie lately it’s "Empty Man." I love going to museums when I'm in other countries. I love art very much. I even have a dream to visit all the museums of fine arts in the world.
