Curses, Berlin-based DJ/Producer blends New Wave and Post-Punk with his ghostly vocals and guitars, with flashes of 80's Italo disco and synth wave. He has been active for over 10 years, nurturing an infectious musical style born from his rock'n'roll roots and obsession with electronic music.
Curses' debut album "Romantic Fiction" dropped in October 2018 via Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno imprint, launching his live act which brings the guitars, vocals and energy of the album to stage as a duo. His DJ sets and productions present a passion for electronic body Music and Belgian new beat styles.
Always keeping true to his signature sound of the dark 80's and now. Curses hosts a monthly Rinse France radio show "RINSE FM FRANCE．TOGETHER ALONE" and has been invited as guest DJ and live stream on BOILER ROOM, XLR8R, Whypeopledance, Circoloco, and Keine Musik. Also, he has released on labels such as Hoga Nord, Bordello A Parigi, Eskimo recordings, and his own imprint Ombra International.
In 2021, Curses curated a double vinyl compilation "NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX" Eskimo Recordings, and the 2nd album is scheduled to drop on Dischi Autunno on Nov 26, 2021.

Do you think there has been a Soundscape surrounding you since your childhood? Does it influence your preferences towards certain timbres or atmospheres while you select tunes?
Music was constantly playing in my home. My father would be blasting opera while my mother, Eurythmics. I think this definitely had a massive influence on me and how I incorporate music into my everyday life, not only career.
How and where was the mix recorded?
I'm back to touring right now, which feels so surreal. I hope it lasts. I’m currently in Marseille France, we played live at this new multimedia festival Un Autre Air, so I recorded the mix here in one of the studios.
Could you tell us the idea behind the mix? Any favorites you want to highlight?
I like to tell a story with my mixes, about the space and time in which you are existing. I am feeling locomotive, a force moving forward, no turning back right now.
I've included some psychedelic synth tracks from the past and heavy snare new ones unreleased..
Would you like to use this occasion to introduce one of your album or tracks? What was the concept of it?
My first album "ROMANTIC FICTION" was a defining moment for me. I discovered a place where I felt true to my self and everything clicked and finally made sense.
How do you think of the differences between the rave scenes around you (your country) and other countries (cultures) ? Have you ever been to one that left you a greatest impression?
Within the last few years I noticed an international taste for the darker club sounds grow immensely. Parties like BLUM in Sao Paulo Brazil, Convenanza Festival in Carcassonne, France, Kite For Nite in Ankara, Turkey were moments performing I'll never forget.
Apart from DJ, how would you define your role in the entire rave scene?
Being a guitar player, in a band is how I always see myself. Even when DJing I approach the mixing like playing songs in a band. With Ombra International, I strive to bring together like-minded artists from around the world sharing a passion for wave and postpunk sounds with a club approach.
Which artists or labels have pricked your ears recently? Could you share with us some of your favorite movies or artists?

As far as visual arts go, I have revisited the film Koyaanisqatsi(1982), the soundtrack is by Philip Glass. It's enormous.
